The news item above got me to thinking about the park dedicated
      to Denis Allen '60 who was killed on the job in 1977.  Turns out
      it was a Fig Newton of my imagination.  The Dennis V Allen park on
      Boundary Street honors the man who founded the San Diego Race
      Relations Society.  Doesn't matter.  I learned a lot about OUR
      Denis Allen and wish I could have known him.  Click HERE to

I'm not sure if Dow Car Stereo was the same as Dow Sound City,
      but here's a photo of the El Cajon Blvd business taken in 1980.

Here's a nice shot of the Cornet 5-10-25 Cent Store at 7875
      Broadway in Lemon Grove.  There's a nice assortment of cars from
      the '50s, with possibly a '61 Chevy on the left.  Click HERE

Louie Messick ’60 passed away this week. He
      worked as a physicist at NOSC. He is survived by his wife of
      almost 58 years Judy, daughter Lisa, grandsons Jake and Bo, and
      his siblings: Art Messick ‘66,  Joan Messick ‘67 and me — Vivien
      Messick Isom ‘63.
    
Ralph Thomas Parry ’62, passed away on May 16,
      2025, from Alzheimer’s disease. He taught at several schools in
      San Diego and was the Cross Country coach at Point Loma High
      School. His friends and family miss him dearly —his sister Candy
      Parry Tickson ’64
