NO “FRIED EGG”* Email NEXT WEEK!!
I’m having my house tented for termites

The cool thing about Facebook is that you get to see wonderful historic photos.  The bad thing is that you rarely learn who took them.  This photo appeared on a Pacific Beach site, with the note, “Serra Museum 1951”.  I contacted the fellow who posted the photo and asked him where he got the photo and who took it.  I’m still not sure where he found the shot, but he said It was submitted by Owen Western  who said,: "Here's an unusual view of Mission Valley shot by my father-in-law in 1951, looking from Presidio Park, northwest, past US Hwy 80".  Small world.  Owen is Class of ‘63 and his father-in-law was Bob Tuohy, with whom I worked at Washburn and Justice Advertising Agency.  Click HERE to see this photo blown up to 12 x 12 inches.

Here’s the cover of the Crawford vs Clairemont football game played at Hoover on October 9, 1959.  Click HERE to check out the lineups.  Sadly, you’ll see Joe Schreiner, whose obituary is below, listed as a 125 pound halfback.

Last week’s reference to Mission Trails Regional Park brought an email from my classmate Steve Haiman -- "alias George Cowles"  (Think Cowles Mountain).  Steve is an active trail guide at the park and will give you a personalized tour if you call him at 619-448-5713. Click HERE to send him an email.

Apparently no photos were taken at the Class of ‘64 50th Reunion, or at least none were forwarded to me.  I’ll share them if I get them.

The Crawford Alumni Association Newsletter says the Class of ‘65 Reunion Committee is hard at work.  They haven’t contacted me.  Call Reunion Specialists at 760-721-0525 for more information.  Click HERE to access their web site.

This ad, featuring Leslie McClure ‘70 as your Walker Scott gift counselor, is part of the December 18, 1969 Pacer donated by Ed Schoenberg.  I’m still not sure why there are missing articles.  Click HERE to read all 6 pages.

Patricia Naish Johnson ‘59, who taught school in Vista for many years, passed away July 13, 2014.  Click HERE to access a more complete obituary and on-line guest book.

Joe Schreiner ‘60 died June 14, 2014 at his home in Silverdale, Washington.  Click HERE to read about his years with the Yolo County Sheriff’s Department and comment via Facebook.

Richard Wasserman ‘68 died of mesothelioma on September 24, 2014.  Click HERE to sign the on-line guest book.
