For people who attended Crawford High School or would have attended if they hadn't
moved -- or just have fond memories of San Diego in the '40s, '50s and '60s.

Check out the Crawford High web site.

June 6, 2025

I had to buy a combination lock box to store my pills in here at Wrinkle World.  It was Made in China.  I'm picturing someone at the factory saying, "No problem.  My cousin speaks English.  He can write out the instructions."

I came across this photo of the original Lindbergh Field terminal on Pacific Highway.  I've added it to the great 1958 photo of the Peterson twins getting off a United Airlines DC-6 in 1958.  Click HERE and enjoy.

Some folks from '68 got together for dinner at 333 Pacific in Oceanside.  Click HERE for the names and a larger picture. Two of the men standing in the photo above took rifles to school at Horace Mann on a regular basis.  See next item.

Mike Meyer '68 still has his Horace Mann Junior Rifle Club card -- and a great story Click HERE for details

Does anyone remember Mr. Cottam from Montezuma Elementary.  He was featured in the Evening Tribune's Know Your Principal series in 1955.  Click HERE to read the article.

Don Fry ’63 passed away April 23, 2025.  He was 79, and was waiting for a heart valve replacement.  He had a Bachelors  Degree from SDSU, and a Masters in City Planning from Fresno State.  He became planning director for four counties in the Sierra Foothills in 1975 and moved to Arnold, California that year.  In 1980, he opened Don Fry Realty with his wife Beverly, which they ran for 31 years.  He later continued his career with Century 21 and ultimately with RE/MAX Gold.  Don was a pillar of local real estate for over 45 years, known for his integrity, generosity, and unwavering commitment to the people he served.  He also served on the Board of Realtors for over a dozen years, shaping the local industry and mentoring countless new agents. Don was fully involved with life in Arnold, yet still loved to return to San Diego for Crawford reunion activities.  Don had a deep love for life and community. He was a fixture on Monday nights at the bocce ball courts, where he played with joy and camaraderie. He also had a passion for singing, which brought light and laughter to many gatherings over the years. Don is survived by, among others, his brother Mike Fry ’60 and sister Wendy Fry Brown ’69.

My sister Nancy Kiley ’70 died May 28 just a few weeks after being diagnosed with spinal cancer.  She was diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease in 2015 and, through it all, maintained a happy, positive outlook.  She had a BS in Information Technology and a long career in accounting. One of her last lucid moments was cheering on the Padres from her hospice facility.  We will miss her smiling face and sense of humor — Dave Kiley ‘72

Bob Richardson supplied Nancy's yearbook photo.  The app that he uses doesn't have access to a 1963 Centaur.  If you have a '63 annual and a scanner, or cell phone, I could use a photo of Don Fry.  No, Don was not a relative.
