Did you watch the Emmies?  Me neither.  Apparently an ill-mannered Hispanic rabbit won for album of the year.  I'll bet he was no Perry Como.

Speaking of awards, Mike Schwartz '61 ought to get an Oscar for  A Place Like This, a poignant 7-minute video that reminded me of the movie Where's Pappa?  Mike was tickled to see his name mentioned last week as an actor in the 1961 senior play.   Click HERE and enjoy.

Larry Blum '63 also broke the Freshman scoring records of another USF alumn.  What was his name?  Oh, THAT'S right -- Bill Russell!!

Last, but certainly not least, Nancy Watson Wingo has passed.  My Gal Pal of nearly 20 years died last Saturday after a lingering illness.  Many of you enjoyed hearing about what we'd been up to or where we might be going for breakfast.  Click HERE to read a memorial I put together.

How sad that Nancy didn't live long enough to see her frequent ANA lunch partner Royce Williams be awarded the Medal of Honor, according to yesterday's paper.  We were with Royce and his wife at an ANA meeting when the government finally allowed him to reveal what happened in the skies over Korea.

I've always feared that one day, if I lived long enough, Fry Days would just be obituaries.  I'll continue to share them if you send them, but I'm no longer gonna peruse the media looking for them.  A Facebook posting yesterday indicated that Aztec-for-Life Chet Carney '74 has passed.  That would be him on the left.
