Just in case you don't have your glasses near, the palm tree is scrawled with sayings berating the only other person on the island.
Who knew there were 20 types of birth control?  I went on-line
and checked in early for my annual physical this Tuesday and the
questions got a little personal.  Click HERE
      at your own peril.

I'm still reading the Union-Tribune on-line, but I don't know for
how much longer. I skip the bad news -- national and international
-- and find the sports pretty depressing.  I usually find
something interesting in the local section.  The headline above in
Tuesday's business section stopped me.  I have NO idea what this
means, but I guess the bots have finally taken over.

to see an enlargement of this 1969 view of downtown from
Coronado.  I found a lot of items of interest in this picture.

Here's a pretty nifty shot looking west on Broadway from 22nd Street around 1890. Turns out the S. D. E. Ry. initials on that bench stood for San Diego Electric Railway -- the streetcar. Click HERE for an enlargement.

I thought you'd really enjoy this vintage photo of the #7 bus
downtown, as well as the historic shot of the old Ward Road bridge
below.  Turns out I thought the same thing a while back.  Click HERE
to revisit the bus page, and HERE
to take another look at the bridge page.

I've been inundated -- overwhelmed -- with obituaries this week.
I no longer, with one exception, know who told me what about
whom.  Here is what I remember.

Borden Hughes ’61 died June 29, 2025

Mike Nesbit and Jane Newberry were on top of one another in the
1964 Centaur.  Mike, twin brother to Mark, died May 20, 2025.
Janis Irvine Ricards says her friend Jane passed away on June
21st, adding "While in the class of 1964, Jane was voted the
Best All Around Senior, Senior Prom Queen, Senior Class
Vice-President, Auroras President, Girl of the Month for March
and Junior Class treasurer.  Jane and I both lived in Del Cerro
and became friends at Lewis Junior High as well as Crawford. We
were freshman roommates in Sproul Hall at UCLA".

Bob Mardon ’64 passed November 8, 2024.  He is
survived by his wife of 53 years, Susie Roskos Mardon ‘65
