Julie Carmody, the Hale 7th Grader who's become an important part
of my new life in Clairemont, asked me to autograph my book on the
USS Saratoga, a belated Fathers' Day gift for her husband.  I
never got around to having Ray Wagner autograph my copy of his
American Combat Planes, even though we socialized regularly when
he worked in the archives at the San Diego Air & Space Museum.

KNOW Mr. Cottam? Janis Irvine GOT HER PICTURE TAKEN with the
Principal of Montezuma Elementary -- in color!  Click HERE
to see it enlarged, along with 5th and 6th grade class photos with
      ALL of the students' names.

But WAIT -- there's more from Janis Irvine. Two photos from the
parties that occurred on the day she turned 18.  I would have been
there, but I was busy at home with my stamp collection.  Click HERE
to see this photo enlarged, plus a bonus shot that I'm pretty sure
      includes Mary Tyler Moore.

Recognize any of these folks? Stephen Bishop '69 (he's on the right) says they're members of the 1968 Drama Class. The guy in the middle, with the tie, is named Jon -- or possible John. I've added this shot to the Stephen Bishop in Animal House page. Click HERE to check it out. I'll add names as I get them.
I spotted this on Facebook.  Anyone remember triplets?

Do you remember, a while back, I was looking for something in the
UT archives and I came across an article about all the Flag
Officers that were showing up for the 90th birthday party for an
Admiral in Coronado?  I'll pretend his name was McGregor.  I said
that, in the future, I was gonna call it a "McGregor" when I went
looking for something and got waylaid by something else.  Do you
recognize the man in this painting?  It's the late Bill Sandback,
who coached award-winning baseball at Crawford for many years, and
      died in 2019.  Click HERE
to read the wonderful obituary written by Bill Center '63 -- and
to learn how any of this could be about Terri Ketcham, the 7th
grader I had as a student teacher at PB Junior High in 1968.

Sonya Braga Mendizza '64 passed away on May 16, 2025.  No
services are planned.  That's all I got.
