For people who attended Crawford High School or would have attended if they hadn't
moved -- or just have fond memories of San Diego in the '40s, '50s and '60s.

Check out the Crawford High web site.

February 20, 2026

This tickled my Funny Bone, probably because of the memories of all the dogs that tried to rip through the screen doors and kill me when I was knocking on doors running for City Council in 1975.

I'm sure you were as excited as I to see this news on the Financial Page.  I know what eBay is, I've HEARD of Etsy, but I have NO clue what Depop is.  I gather this is good news for someone.  Carry on.

Remember when people bowled, and smoked -- and smoked while they bowled?

Ernie Cowan says colorful birds are headed this way.  Click HERE and (hopefully) read his article in last Sunday's UT.

A few folks from the Class of '71 got together at McGregor's last week.  There's no way I could do a caption even if I had all the names, but you can see the photo enlarged if you click HERE.

I couldn't nail down the date of this train station photo, but I've added it to my Santa Fe page.  Click HERE to see it enlarged, along with a gorgeous 1918 shot of the train station courtyard.

Bob Richardson sent word -- as did others -- of the passing of John Blackwood '59.  As good a reason as any for him to fix up this photo he took of John and his cohorts doing the Can-Can.  Click HERE for details and a larger photo.

John Blackwood passed away February 12th.  Click HERE to see a nice photo collage and some final words from his daughter on the Class of '59 Obituary Page.

Pam Blackman Amato died January 28, 2026.  We met at Horace Mann in chorus class and were basically joined at the hip through high school. Life took us in some different directions but we always stayed connected. She was dear to all who knew and loved her. She will be ever remembered for her smile that could light up a room, her infectious laugh, and her beautiful singing voice.  Pam had suffered from ill health for several years before her passing — Mollie Novidor Lavin ’72
