For people who attended Crawford High School or would have attended if they hadn't
moved -- or just have fond memories of San Diego in the '40s, '50s and '60s.

Ron Davidson, Bill Jones, Wendy Wangsgard, and John Fry at the Stardust Hotel in Vegas in 1967.  The three guys lived at College Village Apartments on Rolando.  Ron and Wendy were PE teachers at Horace Mann.  I don’t know what became of Bill.  Ron gave his life in Vietnam.  Click HERE to read about him.

Still one of my favorite Far Side cartoons.  My aviator friends refer to those as Cumulo-Granite clouds.

I spotted this on the counter at the Old Folks' Home and thought it was pretty cute.

Speaking of shipping companies -- how many times have you seen this logo and not noticed the White Arrow?

It's just a bunch of cars in a rain-swept Grossmont College parking lot, but wait'll you see it enlarged.  Click HERE and be amazed (or befuddled) at what I've put together.

Phyllis Schwartz '72 is out with another book.  Click HERE to read all about it in the Encinitas Advocate.  Click HERE to purchase a copy on Amazon.

Yale Strom '76 is also out with another book. I assume he wrote it in his spare time (see below).  The Autobiography of the Offenbacher traces the life of a storied violin as it witnesses the history of Central and Eastern European Jewry from the late eighteenth to the late twentieth century.  Click HERE for more information.

Yale is one of the world's leading ethnographer-artists of klezmer and Romani music, history, and culture. With his masters in Yiddish Studies (NYU), He conducted numerous ethnographic research trips to Central and Eastern Europe. His findings formed the repertoire of his klezmer band, Hot Pstromi. In addition, his research has been used to direct ten award-winning documentary films, write eighteen books, write two award- winning audio dramas, record seventeen music recordings, and have many photo exhibitions in North America and Europe. Yale Strom currently teaches in the music department at San Diego State University.

I ran across this snippet on the web, which turned out to be from Lanny Wagstaff's 1974 Little Restaurants of San Diego, which I spent half a day scanning a while back.  Click HERE to check it out.   Click HERE to revisit the Blumer's Bakery page.  Make sure you scroll down and click on the link that takes you to Leatha McGowan's wedding reception.

My ballot is in the mail for the June 2nd election.  I think I counted 59 candidates for Governor, recognizing nary a one.  I couldn't help myself when it came to Lieutenant Governor.

I'm still upset about the passing of my '62 classmate Tom Cassie on April 4th.  I came across this from a 2018 Colt Corral posting and thought I'd share it.

Did I ever share my "Jimmy" Erickson page with you?  Jimmy and my late mentor Howard Rozelle were business partners briefly in 1947-1948.  Jimmy may have had questionable business practices and was something of a BS Artist.  He claimed to have taken the first aerial photographs in San Diego and to have let Charles Lindbergh bunk with him when the Spirit of Saint Louis was being built.  Turns out he may have been telling the truth.  Click HERE for an adventure.
