It's

Boo!

-----------------------------------------------------

Wow!  Frankenstein's Mom kept straight pins in her mouth when she sewed just like MY mom.  OK -- Frankenstein's monster's Mom.  Do straight pins even exist anymore?

-----------------------------------------------------

The end is near -- or getting closer.  A few years back I posted on Facebook this 1946 shot of me in a sailor suit.  Someone "colorized" it and sent it back.  Pretty cool, I thought.

-----------------------------------------------------

My friend Julie -- as near as I can figure -- typed John Fry - Tequila - USS Saratoga  into CHATGPT and came up with the image above.  Turns out I have 6 fingers (OK -- 5 fingers and a thumb).  Kinda cute, but a little creepy.

-----------------------------------------------------

I've always loved this Pacific Beach postcard which looks west on Garnet Avenue at Fanuel Street around 1958.  A new app apparently allows you to turn still images into little movies.  Really cool and really creepy.  Click HERE and be amazed -- and frightened. (I hope this works.  It may require Facebook.)

-----------------------------------------------------

1969 classmates Sharon Whitley and Sally Miyashita were abducted by pirates and forced to endure an 18-day cruise to Hawaii.  Here they are in steerage eating bread and water with their husbands.  Click HERE for the actual story.

-----------------------------------------------------

Jack Tempchin '65 checked in.  After those big hits for the Eagles, I guess he's still writing a song a day for his ownself.  Click HERE to read his bio and work your way through his web page.  It'll be fun.

-----------------------------------------------------

Chet Carney '74, whose passing was mentioned last Fry Day, got a big spread in the UT on February 8th.  That's Chet on the right, with his friend Sarah Eishen, and basketball player Trimaine Davis.  Click HERE to read the article.
