For people who attended Crawford High School or would have attended if they hadn't
moved -- or just have fond memories of San Diego in the '40s, '50s and '60s.

Check out the Crawford High web site.

September 1, 2023

With apologies to Hal Weirather, my 9th Grade Algebra teacher at Horace Mann

It seems like we touched on this story a while back, but I can't find it.  Anyway, CBS 8's Jeff Zevely caught up with Ken Pernicano '70 and talked about the days when the 14-year old band member got kicked out of Crawford for wearing long hair.  Click HERE and wade through the commercials for a look back at the Good Old Days.

The Hardy School boys (Crawford '70) reunited with their old classmate and neighbor Larry Klein August 16th at Elijah's Restaurant in Kearny Mesa.  It was the first time any of them had seen or spoke with Larry in over 50 years.  From left that's Larry Klein, Steve Hoke, Gary Gallerstein, Wayne Zucker and Bernie Feldman.  Larry, Steve and Bernie grew up on Redding Rd. with just one other house in between the three of them.  Gary and Wayne grew up on Remington Rd. as next door neighbors, two blocks away from Larry, Steve and Bernie.  Click HERE for a larger image, plus some 1958 City Directory data on Redding and Remington Streets.

Sharon Cramer Sceper '68 accidentally sent me an email chock full of photos of the inside of her house in Hayfork, California.  Finders keepers!  Click HERE if you'd like to take the tour.

A color version of a previously-posted aerial of the Hillcrest Sears, Roebuck & Co. showed up on Facebook recently.  I've added it to my Sears Hillcrest page.  Click HERE to check out a slightly larger view of this one.

Lynn Felice ’65 passed away April 12, 2023.  After high school he played football at San Diego State as a tight end.  They were undefeated in 1968 and 1969.  He worked at San Diego Transit as an accident investigator.  After he retired he flipped houses in Washington and California. He enjoyed playing poker, pool and spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife of forty years, Nancy Felice, daughters Lyndsay and Laura, son in law,Aron, grandchildren, Logan and Avery, and his brother Lee Felice ’66.
