For people who attended Crawford High School or would have attended if they hadn't moved -- or just have fond memories of San Diego in the '40s, '50s and '60s.
Memories of Al Davis
For many of us Al Davis, the owner of the Oakland Raiders, who died last week was the Darth Vader of football. I'm glad that sportswriting legend Jerry Magee was able to share a nice thought, that involved the Crawford attendance area. If you lived on Chaparral Way, maybe YOU lived next door to Al Davis. Actually, the Davis family lived next door to my family on Baja Drive. When I was a 5 year old, their son Mark took me to visit his Kindergarten class at Hardy Elementary.
