Please, please, please!  Let me be the Task Force Commander who gets to say, "You may fire when ready Gridley (look it up)

A Pedant's Progress is the best thing I've read in years, and I'm not sure how it fell into my lap.  I think it popped up on my Facebook page.  It's a cute little essay about what can happen when you assume your language skills might be superior to those of someone else: You might wind up "with egg on your shoe".  Click HERE and enjoy.

Hey, maybe we ought to set up a "Sister School" program with Crawford High School in Losharon, Texas, which is 30 miles outside of Houston, with a population of 1,740.  That's not a Colt, however -- it's a Charger.

Speaking of language skills, here's my 1959 Horace Mann final report card.  Mrs. Bruner gave me an A-!!  Betty Alexander thought I was "A joy to know".  I went on to Summer School at Hoover and, a few weeks later, enrolled at Crawford.  Click HERE to see report cards from all three venues.

But wait -- there's more!!  Long after graduating from Crawford I heard about smart people enrolling in regular classes to bump up their GPAs.  Not me!  I was the "Tail Dragger" in both these classes and somehow got into State with a C+ average.  Oh, that's right -- San Diego State took everyone.  Click HERE to see what all of this has to do with Joe Isuzu.

Remember University Lanes?  A bowling alley and so much more.  I redid the page that has my University Lanes postcard.  Click HERE to check it out -- again.
